Donated 32 books for youth in grades K–6 to enrich after-school programs and help build an inclusive community where all belong.
MedStar Children's Hospital · NICU
Donated 25 early-learning board books to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to support early brain development and reduce language delays in premature infants.
Ethiopian Community Development Council
Donated 48 backpacks, 48 calculators, 52 pencils, and 20 notebooks to support Afghan refugee children across ECDC’s programs.
Engineers Without Borders · Panama Project
Donated 116 children’s Spanish books to support the Hato Rincón indigenous region in Panama, with the DC chapter of Engineers Without Borders.

Who we are
Every student deserves access to the books that help them pursue their passion — and reach higher education.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit registered in Virginia, serving the Washington DC metro area and beyond. Our goal is to empower underrepresented and low-income families with the same resources available to everyone else pursuing a college education.

What we do
Four connected ways we close the gap.
Nexus means connection. Each part of our work links the next — from spotting the need to putting materials in a student's hands.
Identify
Work with schools and community organizations to understand where students lack academic resources.
Partner
Collaborate with schools, nonprofits, businesses, and community organizations already serving those students.
Mobilize
Raise funds, collect materials, and develop targeted campaigns around specific student needs.
Deliver
Put test-prep materials, books, school supplies, and educational opportunities directly into students’ hands.
Our approach
We close the last-mile resource gap.
Many disadvantaged students never get the chance to prepare for higher education. By partnering with schools to identify needs and delivering materials for free, we help make sure no student is held back by what they can't afford.

Nexus2Ed is run by two siblings who believe every student deserves the same shot at higher education — and decided to do something about it.
Vinay Ayala
Founder & President
A student at Purdue University, Vinay founded Nexus2Ed to close the resource gap he saw students facing. He leads the organization and its school partnerships across Northern Virginia and beyond.
Varsha Ayala
Co-Founder
A student at The Madeira School, Varsha helps run Nexus2Ed by organizing fundraisers, reaching out for new partnerships, and coordinating local events to support local communities.
